Serve on a Team

Do you enjoy interacting with others? Do you have a heart for welcoming people to KawanaLife? Could you join our Welcome Team? There are various ways to get involved; including door greeter; handing out welcome packs to visitors; and waiting for those who have requested for someone to meet them at the door. Get in touch if this sounds like you!

Have you enjoyed our KawanaLife morning teas? Could you serve alongside others on a 6-week roster? There’s heaps of ways to involved. We need people to bake (or buy) the treats; to cut up the baked goods and put on platters; to chop up fruit; to set up the long tables; to set up the tea and coffee area; and to step in for the wash up / tidy up at the end. Your help is needed - please message below.

Coffee Chaplaincy is a long-established and valuable part of our outreach to the local community. Every week our coffee chaplains serve barista coffee and chat with people who need a bit of extra love and kindness. On Mondays the team take the coffee machine to Housing Pathway Program and on Thursdays it travels with them to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH mental health ward). Is this an area of service that God’s placed on your heart?

The Lord has opened a door for us to run a weekly annex Sunday service at Seasons in Caloundra, and we’re always looking for people to join the roster. From upfront speaking roles, to quietly serving morning tea and chatting with the residents, there are different ways to serve on this team. Please reach out to Ernie and Marilyn - they’d love to hear from you.

Do you already have skills working with audio / visual equipment? If not, is this an area you’d like to get involved with? Full training is available. For more information, contact David.

Are you passionate about seeing our young people live a vibrant Christian life? Please reach out to our Youth Group leaders - they would love to have a chat with you to discuss how you might be able to get involved.

Are you fluent in Auslan? Would you be willing to use your skills to translate our Sunday service for deaf people? Please reach out, we would love to involve you on the team.

Has God blessed you with musical talent? Please chat with us about joining the Music Team.

Has God given you a heart to see children grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus? The KL Kids team are responsible for teaching our children on Sunday mornings, during the sermon. If you would like more information, please arrange a time to chat with Annette.

Once a month (the last Sunday), we have a whole church pot-luck-style morning tea. This gives everyone the opportunity to bring a plate to share; and gives the usual morning tea crew a chance to enjoy new treats. If you’ve got kids who love to bake; the WCMT is a great way to encourage them to serve as part of KawanaLife.

If you’d like to contribute but find yourself tight on time, then a packet of biscuits is always gratefully received, and can be kept in store for a time when they are needed.

Do you have creative talent in some form? From graphic design, to interior design, to landscape design, to building something creative with your hands - there are so many opportunities to share your creative gifts at KawanaLife. Please let us know how you might be able to contribute.

From time to time we run whole-church events, and there are different roles and skills needed. From the initial creative ideas phase; to the practical planning / shopping / cooking; to setting up, serving up, clearing up… and everything in-between. If you’d be willing to share your gifts and skills as part of the Events & Catering Team, please get in touch.
