What We Believe

Our faith, our hope, and the foundation of KawanaLife.

At KawanaLife, we seek to follow Jesus faithfully, love our community deeply, and root everything we do in the truth of God’s Word. Below is a simple summary of what we believe—historic, biblical convictions held with humility, clarity, and love.

1. The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired and trustworthy Word. It teaches us who God is, how He saves, and how we are to live. Scripture is our final authority in all matters of faith and life.

2. The Triune God

We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—eternally existing in three persons. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign Lord over all things.

3. Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died in our place, rose again, and ascended to the Father’s right hand. Jesus is the only Saviour and the only way to eternal life.

4. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, gives new life, indwells every believer, and equips God’s people for holy living, service, and mission.

5. Humanity and Sin

We believe all people are created in God’s image yet fallen in sin. We are unable to save ourselves—our hope is in God’s grace alone.

6. Salvation by Grace

We believe salvation is God’s gift. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone—not by our own works. Those God saves He also transforms, shaping us to become more like Jesus.

7. The Church

We believe the church is the gathered people of God—redeemed by Christ, united by the Spirit, and called to worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and mission. We value community, hospitality, and caring well for one another.

8. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe baptism is for believers, by immersion, as a public declaration of faith in Jesus. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper regularly as a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice and our unity in Him. These are gifts Christ has given to His church.

9. Christian Living

We believe followers of Jesus are called to live lives marked by love, humility, repentance, forgiveness, and holiness. We obey God not to earn salvation, but because we belong to Him.

10. Marriage and Family

We believe God designed marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman for life. We affirm the value of family, parenting, and community as blessings from God.

11. Our Mission

We believe every believer is called to make Jesus known. We seek to share the gospel with gentleness and truth, serve our local community, and show Christ’s compassion in practical ways.

12. The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus will one day return visibly and triumphantly. He will renew all things and gather His people into the new heavens and new earth. This hope encourages us to live with perseverance, joy, and faithfulness.

13. Our Historic Roots - Keach’s Catechism

We gladly stand within the historic Reformed Baptist tradition. As part of that heritage, we affirm Keach’s Catechism (The Baptist Catechism, 1693) as a faithful and helpful summary of the core doctrines of Scripture. We use it for teaching, discipleship, and grounding believers—young and old—in the essentials of the Christian faith.

14. In All Things - Christ at the Centre

Above all, KawanaLife exists to help people believe in Jesus, belong to His family, and become who He has called them to be, by His grace and for His glory.
