Serving in Thailand

Originally from India, Muana and Villy along with their three daughters (Yindii, Zoe and Libi) have been in Northern Thailand since 2001.

They serve in both rural and urban communities by facilitating training of leaders in the local faith communities; preparing teaching resources; running Bible studies with small groups; and providing pastoral support to two small churches who don’t have pastors.

Engaging with the locals

Population: 66 million

Main religion: Buddhism

Muana and Villy also teach English in government schools; participate in community events; and disciple believers to become faithful witnesses within their own communities.

Villy uses her skills and passions in beauty consultancy to build relationships with the Thai people; giving her an avenue to help people make better choice in life.

Although Christianity has spread among minority people groups, it is yet to fully impact ethnic Thais. While the vast population identify as Buddhist, there are many other spiritual influences too.

Leadership roles

Muana serves as Team Leader to the Thailand & Vietnam mission teams, providing guidance and oversight.

He also provides support and guidance to new staff in the language learning program and serves as leader to the Baptist Mission Australia Thailand intercultural team.
