Who We Are

KawanaLife Baptist Church is a place for everyone. We’re a mixed group of people at all ages and stages; and from all walks of life.

At the core of all we do, is our belief in the good news of the gospel - that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and was raised to life again.

Whether you’re looking to join a church or are just checking us out, we look forward to welcoming you on Sunday at 9.30am.

Our Sunday Services

Our services are relaxed but reverent. We sing in worship to God, pray together, and hear from God’s word through the reading and preaching of the Bible. Afterwards, we chat over tea and coffee.

  • When?

    Every Sunday morning at 9.30am.

  • Deaf Signing

Auslan interpreting is available on the first Sunday of every month.

  • Communion

We share communion on the first Sunday of every month.

  • We Sing

We play a mix of contemporary worship songs and hymns. You can listen to a selection of these on our KawanaLife Spotify playlist.

  • We Learn

Our pastor, Justin, teaches from the Bible using an expository style. You can watch a selection of past sermons on our KawanaLife YouTube channel.

  • We Chat

At the end of our service we enjoy spending time together over coffee and home baking. We’d love to get to know you - please stay and join us.

Our desire is to see lives transformed through the good news of Jesus Christ.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s normal to have questions, especially if you’ve never been to church before.

  • We usually start by sharing announcements and church news. This is followed by a time of singing and prayer. We read from the Bible and our pastor, Justin, talks about it through the sermon.

The service finishes by 11am and we spend the next while catching up over tea and coffee.

  • Children are a valued part of our church. For primary-aged children, we have Sunday School which runs upstairs during the main sermon.

For parents with babies and toddlers, we have a Parents’ Room available for your use.

On Friday nights is our Youth Group for those in Years 5-12.

  • Yes. Much of our building is wheelchair accessible and we have a disabled toilet.

While there is no designated disabled parking as such, we do have one unofficial disabled parking spot next to the front door. If you’re planning a visit, please email us ahead of time so we can reserve it for you.

  • We’re a mixed bag with people at all ages and stages of life. You’ll find couples, singles, divorced, widowed, families – professionals, workers, students and retired people.

  • Communion (also known as The Lord’s Supper) is a tangible reminder of Jesus’ death on the cross. At KawanaLife we share communion on the first Sunday of each month.

If you’re a Christian you are welcome to share in it. There is no judgment on anyone who does not join in.

  • There’s no dress code. You’ll find some people wearing their ‘Sunday best’, while others will be in shorts and flip flops. The important thing is that you’re here, not what you’re wearing.

  • No. You’ll be neither asked nor expected to give money.

If you do want to make a donation to the work at KawanaLife, you can do this by either (a) online bank transfer; or (b) in-person directly into our offering box near the front door.

  • There’s no reserved or set seating, so please sit anywhere you like.

  • If you’d like someone to meet you at the front door, just drop us a message here (at least a few days before your visit) and we’ll make sure someone is waiting for you.
